Can anyone remember as far back as February when the Zoological Society of London announced that they were running an Animal Photography Prize? Open to all ages and skill levels, ZSL asked photographers to submit their stunning shots of the animal kingdom for their annual competition.
Well now the results are in, and these pretty pictures are now available to see in an outside exhibition at London Zoo. From the weird and wonderful to the deep and meaningful, come and see every creature great and small as they are captured in all their glory.
There were seven categories, six of which can be seen on display with entry to the zoo. The seventh is an online exhibit called Catch Me If You Can, and shows that you can still take fantastic pictures even if you only have a mobile phone.
Among the winning entries you'll find a shoebill by Will-Burrad Lucas. It is not the most beautiful creature in the world, but somehow, it turns out to be quite photogenic. Other photos showcased include a sea nettle jellyfish, black hippo, and a humble ladybird. Pay a visit to find out who took first place.
