The Sedos Resident Amateur Theatre Company is presenting a revival of the 1930s comedy 'You Can't Take It With You'. There will be one matinee and evening sessions from April 10th to April 14th. It's happening at the Bridewell Theatre, on Bride Lane, which is off Fleet Street. The tickets cost £11.50-18.50. Tickets are non-refundable and non-changeable.
Moss Hart and George S Kaufman won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1937 for this popular comedy. This play also won a 1938 Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director. Rose Byrne and James Earl Jones featured in a recent award-winning revival on Broadway in 2014.
The play is set in America in the 1930's. The Sycamore family take centre stage by showing the world how to live their passions. Their daughter brings home a new beau, who is rather conservative and from the Wall Street set. What ensues as a result of this dinner makes the best-laid plans go asunder.
This comedy is idealistic, raucous and a little bit crazy. It delves into the world of life vs money.
The play is expected to be a sell out so get your tickets at sedos.co.uk
