One of the best things about the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition at Somerset House is the sheer variety of the work on show, and quality work at that.
Providing a snapshot of life in 2012, the exhibition comprises stunning shots from around the world by amateurs and professionals alike, covering subject areas such as fashion, travel, wildlife, landscape, portraiture and current affairs.
Whether you're a struggling snapper in the need of some inspiration, an established photographer keen to enjoy the work of other talented photographers or simply someone who appreciates a beautiful image, this unique exhibition should be something to savour.
On display you'll find the shortlisted entries for the 2013 competition, selected from a staggering 122,000 entries from 170 countries.
According to the competition website, "topics range from haunting shots of the Syrian conflict to the Obama presidential campaign; an intimate study of cinema-goers in Kabul to quirky and witty shots of the animal kingdom."
The winners are set to be announced at the end of April, but you can enjoy all the shortlisted entries at the Somerset House exhibition before then.
Tickets cost £7.50 (concessions £5) and can be booked here.
