The Olympic rush may be over but sports fans have plenty to look forward to in Birmingham in the early part of the year.
Here are just a few of the highlights:
[SECTION]INTERNATIONAL NETBALL[/SECTION]
**England Netball v World Champions Australia - January 26
Birmingham NIA**
England Netball captain Pamela Cookey will lead team mates including Sara Bayman against the best netball team in the world - Australia.
Speaking ahead of the final match in the international three-match series in Birmingham, England Head Coach Anna Mayes said: "We have a nice blend of young talent and experienced players and it's really exciting to have Natalie Haythornthwaite after she showed some good performances at the World University Games.
"We are incredibly excited about challenging the world number one side over three matches on home soil."

[SECTION]WORLD CLASS ATHLETICS[/SECTION]
**British Athletics Grand Prix - February 16, 1pm - 4.30pm
Birmingham NIA**
Birmingham has become one of the biggest indoor events of the athletics calendar over recent years.
This year is no different with some of the most popular Olympic Team GB track and field heroes set to be in action including double gold winner Mo Farah.
Farah previously broke the British and Indoor two mile record at this venue, so it has fond memories for him.
The event throughout the afternoon includes the 60m sprint, pole vault, high jump and 60m hurdles. There's plenty of sporting action to keep all ages entertained and usually has guest appearances from top former athletes and Spike, the UK Athletics mascot.

[SECTION]CROSS COUNTRY[/SECTION]
**UKA McCain UK Cross Country Trials - March 9
Cofton Park, Longbridge**
The final event iin the series will include the UK Inter Counties and UK Cross Challenge final. Runners will be competing for the chance to qualify for the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, so there should be plenty of established cross country stars.
Cofton Park is close to Longbridge train station.

An Audience With John Motson - March 11, 7.30pmBirmingham Town Hall
Football broadcasting legend John Motson, aka Motty, reveals some of the highlights of his 40 years as a regular on BBC1's Match of the Day, Grandstand and Football Focus at this unique chance to get up-close to the broadcaster.
Former ITV sports presenter Gary Newbon comperes the night. Expect to hear the inside track on the footballing world.

West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa Football Teams
Birmingham and the regions boasts two football teams in the Premiership - West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa.
They both have their fair share of celebrity fans that you occasionally may spot at the match including comedian Frank Skinner and TV presenter Adrian Chiles for WBA, and Prince William and Tom Hanks for Aston Villa.
