Woodland Playground, East Sheen Common

Hidden under a canopy of trees in the heart of East Sheen Common is a serene and secluded woodland playground.
First opened in September 2021, the playground was built with nature and fun in mind. All the equipment is made out of natural wood and blends into the surrounding woodland.
Suitable for children of all ages, the playground features swings, slides, climbing platforms, trapeze rings, a rope tunnel, toddler area and much more. While we were there, I overheard someone saying it was by far the best children's playground in the area!
The playground is located far enough off the main road of East Sheen that the noise of traffic is replaced by beautiful birdsong, and no matter how busy the playground is, there is an air of peacefulness here.
Unfortunately, there isn't a shop or cafe nearby (or any public toilets). If you are staying a while, then bring plenty of snacks and drinks. There is a big field next to the playground, which is a perfect spot to picnic on. There is also a lovely pub called
The Victoria about a 5 minute walk away. It has a lot of outdoor seating, a children's play area, a varied menu and toilet facilities!
The playground is completely fenced and gated, with woodchips covering the ground. No dogs are allowed inside. It is shaded by the surrounding trees, which is perfect on a hot summer's day as you don't need to worry about applying suncream or getting overheated children.
To get to the playground enter the common from West Temple Sheen and turn right past the cricket pitch. The playground is hidden within the woodland just beyond the field.
