Age old questions like 'Which came first, the chicken or the egg?' and 'Is chocolate better than sex?' rear their dull heads many boring times throughout a life... The simple answer to the first one is we'll probably never know. And the answer to the second? Well it really depends on which chocolate doesn't it. And William Curleys best is going to put up a fight (he's a chocolatier with several London cafe/ stores, in case you haven't met.).

It goes deeper than just chocolate in a William Curleys kitchen. This man (or his team of representatives) know how to blend and layer and melt and fold and do all sorts of very wonderful things with cream, sugar, cocoa and a wooden spoon... We're not talking about a simple truffle here and there, we're talking apricot pate de fruit and wasabi ganache, earl grey tea and Toscano dark and milk chocolate, Kyoto green tea and dark chocolate cubes, sea salt caramels, thyme and Scottish heather honey parcels - and the 2008 award winner - Japanese black rice vinegar and dark chocolate ganache... here's the full list. It's definitely enough to get your pulse racing - though it could just be an oncoming sugar rush.

And it's not just chocolate this man knows he way around either, he'll treat you to what I'm not exaggerating to be pastries as delectable as is publicly decent. First off you have the visual stimulus, the delicate curls of chocolate and sumptuous, moist colour of a raspberry, or the perfect smooth dome of chocolate, the same shape as one of those champagne glasses based on you know whose you know what. Then you open your mouth and it's.... well.... All very nice thank you. I'll have what she's having as long as she's having a Chocolate and Orange Dome.

They do a hot chocolate to make you melt as well, but you want to be careful, at William Curleys it's actually possible to get too much of a good thing. I'd recommend choosing the most opulent desert you can imagine and teaming it with something harmless like a peppermint tea.
You can eat in if you need a fix, but this is more a take it home to someone you really love kinda place. William isn't an easy man to walk past if you know what I mean - we have chemistry...
