Buying shoes in Church Street is no Wild Goose chase
Peter and Vasanta Pearce have been selling shoes in Church Street, Twickenham, since 1995. I know that we ladies have a 'thing' for shoes, something that most men fail to understand, but Wild Goose caters for both sexes. So if you're the type of bloke who gets bored when she's trying on everything in the shop, you can browse and buy for yourself too. In fact you fellows don't have to stop at your feet, as the shop also stocks a range of men's casual clothing and leather goods: jackets, shirts, tee shirts, jeans and belts. The ladies needn't feel left out either, as there is also a small range of accessories for them.

Peter pointed out that you won't find sky high stilettos in Wild Goose; everything is flat or on a low heel, but nothing is frumpy. Ranges stocked include Timberland, Rockport, Camper and Converse. For the current autumn/winter season there is a large choice of boots and slippers for both sexes, pretty ballerina pumps for the girls and of course a colourful range of Converse trainers.

Wild Goose trades out of a 1720s building in historic Church Street. You should take time out to admire the architecture when you're in the shop as the exposed brickwork and beams all add to the character of the establishment; these natural features complement the leather of the shoes. And to return to the subject of footwear the sizes stocked are 36-42 for women and 41-46 for men, but if you're a man with slightly bigger feet they may be able to accommodate you too. Peter told me that some men have been flummoxed when offered a choice in a size that is usually hard to find. And I thought it was we girls who had trouble making decisions.

Something for the Men
With the festive season fast approaching you could do a lot worse than go shopping in Church Street. Apart from the slippers, there are always the accessories, and gift vouchers are also available.
