The White Horse in Otterbourne are kicking meat off the menu and hosting a 100% Vegan Night on January 17th. With a regular menu that already has a handful of delicious vegan and vegetarian options, and vegetables even shine on meat eaters plate, it seems like the obviously place to hold a specialty vegan dinner.
The menu is being prepared by head chef Lucia, and it will make the most of the locally grown vegetables that are already a standout of the White Horse menu. The vegan pick on their regular menu is the globe artichoke, radicchio and baby gem salad with candied lemon and lemon dressing, but the pumpkin parmigiana proved to be a very popular dish at their Vegan Night in October. You don't need to be vegan or vegetarian to enjoy the meal, as the meat-free meals are good enough in their own right.
Bookings are essential, and many tables have already been nabbed. To secure your table, call 01962 712830 or reserve a table on the White Horse website. If you can't make the night, keep your eyes peeled on the White Horse Facebook page, as they will hopefully become a semi-regular event.
The White Horse is located in Otterbourne, about 8 miles outside of Southampton. They are open for brunch, lunch and dinner, and have a regular Sunday Roast menu as well as pub favourites and dishes that make the most of their locally sourced produce.
