Three years, thirty titles; since its founding in 2010, Whirlwind Recordings has been representing some of the most exciting creative music released in the UK, USA, and Europe. The label is committed to bringing original and creative music to audiences, which they do through their Whirlwind Festival. Taking place between the 10th-12th October, King's Place will play host to jazz concerts designed for both young and old alike. For example, Jazz for Babies promotes the launch of five new albums aimed specifically at under fives. It includes calm, soothing music and lullabies, and is free to attend (although requires booking).
The saxophonist, Rachel Cohen will appeal to youths, with her soft, melodic, but vibrant tones. On the other hand, Mike Gibbs, a legendary composer and conductor, might attract the old age group with his twelve piece ensemble.
Tickets for the concerts range from £9.50-£29.50, but you can get any seat for £9.50 if you don't mind it being randomly allocated to you by the box office.
