It's all happening in December at one of the largest and most visited music and sporting venues in the country. Birmingham's Utilita Arena , which began life as the National Indoor Arena in 1991, has an amazing line-up of shows in the run-up to Christmas for fans of all ages and tastes to enjoy. From music and movies to podcast superstars, it can all be found at Utilita Arena, on the edge of Birmingham's popular canal network, over the next couple of weeks.

First up for the exciting festive programme is an appearance by celebrity podcast couple Chris and Rosie Ramsey on December 13 with their Shagged Married Annoyed live show. Comedian Chris and his presenter wife Rosie are bringing their live stage show to arenas around the country following the amazing success of their #1 hit podcast which received more than 100 million downloads, and led to a prime-time BBC chat show as well as a best-selling book.

The following day, December 14, sees something completely different when British singer-songwriter Leona Lewis makes her long-awaited appearance exactly a year after cancelling her original concert due to the birth of her first child. Leona, who will be supported by up-and-coming singer Akicita, shot to fame after winning The X Factor TV talent show in 2006. All tickets bought for her concert on 15 December 2022 remain valid for the rescheduled date.

Another day sees another headline act at the Utilita Arena when Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds make a return appearance on December 15. The band, formed by Noel in 2010 following the end of Oasis, will be performing songs from their new album, Council Skies, as well as a number of familiar hits. Support for the High Flying Birds comes from former Kasabian lead vocalist Tom Meighan.

Madness promise another night of mayhem


Then, on Saturday 16 December, one of the UK's most-loved bands, Madness, concludes their 13-date ‘C’est La Vie 2023’ tour with a much-anticipated show in Birmingham. Known for their raucous live sets, Suggs and co will be performing hits from their unrivalled back catalogue along with a number of new songs. Joining Madness on stage will be special guests, Lightning Seeds to make it a special night to remember.

But the pre-Christmas enjoyment does not end there, as Utilita will be showing a special screening of family movie favourite Home Alone in Concert on December 20. The 1990 comedy film starred Macaulay Culkin as 8-year-old Kevin McCallister who must defend his home against bungling thieves, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, As the film is shown on a giant HD screen, The Heritage Orchestra will perform John Williams' excellent film score alongside.
