Wetherspoon Real Ale & Cider Festival 2012

I have spent most of my life in Leith and love to take advantage of what Edinburgh has to offer, particularly food and drink!
Event: -
A beer festival with prices to raise a glass to
Beer lovers take note!

Between Wednesday, 24th October and Sunday, 11th November the Wetherspoon Real Ale Festival will be taking place at five venues in Edinburgh and many more nearby. 50 real ales and ciders, some brewed specifically for this event, will be on offer including 10 overseas ales hailing from as far afield as Japan, Australia and Canada. Many are specialist brews containing such diverse ingredients as heather, grapefruit and elderberries so there will be something to suit every palate. The event promises to be easy on the pocket too as all beers will be between £1.79 and £1.99 per pint.

I have listed the venues in and around Edinburgh below along with a full list of the products that will be available however if you wish to learn more, including detailed tasting notes, head to www.jdwrealale.co.uk. As a big chain, Wetherspoon pubs are sometimes ridiculed, but they are known for championing cask ales and low prices and their venues don't play music, which I personally prefer as I won't end up hoarse at the end of a night!

Great first article, Oli. I didn't even realise that there was Wetherspoon's festival at all, now that they had all of the venues in an around Edinburgh.
