No escape from reality
We Will Rock You
Life has become so diluted. Everyone watches the same movies, listens to the same songs, there's no individuality anymore. No creativity. It sounds like George Orwell's imagined dystopian future in 1984, but no, this is a world created - or rather imagined - by comedy writer, Ben Elton. Most famous for his smash hit comedies starring Rowan Atkinson, such as The Blue Thin Line, and Blackadder, Elton went on to do theatrical productions. His most successful to date? We Will Rock You. With over four thousand performances, and some of the most entertaining music you'll ever hear, We Will Rock You is currently playing at the Dominion Theatre Monday to Saturdays. With performances at 2.30pm & 7.30pm, tickets cost between £15-£64.
Set on Planet Mall, where musical instruments are banned, everyone listens to music generated by computers (sounds like iTunes has taken over the world, doesn't it?).
But not everyone is happy with this. Resistance is growing, and a group of Bohemian rebels want to go back to the Golden Age. A time called The Rhapsody.
