The Wombles may still be busily tidying up Wimbledon Common, but Wandsworth Common is hosting its fifth beer festival this Easter. The event continues throughout the weekend, ending on Sunday, 31 March. If you would rather quaff a few pints than scoff a few chocolate eggs, Le Gothique is the place to head for.



In addition to 120 new beers (How many pints will you have to drink every day to work through that amount?) the event will also offer cider and wine by the glass. Local brewery Young's may no longer produce its Ram Rod and other beers close to the common, but other London micro-brewers will be supplying bevvies for the occasion, among them Twickenham Fine Ales and East London Brewery. A full list of draft beers is available via the website and CAMRA members can get a concessionary price for entrance to the event. Tickets will be available at the door, but numbers will be restricted because of fire regulations. Cheers.
