Whether or not you have travelled into central London for the Mayor's Thameside fireworks on New Year's Eve , you may still want to continue to enjoy further pyrotechnical performances into the New Year. So if you want to continue to feed your firework addiction, or just want an excuse to take the family to watch a display of flashing lights, accompanied by music, the only way is Essex (or Leyton).

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is hosting two displays on 2 January; one at The Highams Park in Woodford Green, and the other at Leyton Jubilee Park. You can view maps for the locations of the fireworks here . Both kick off at 7pm and food and drink will be available, as will a limited number of disabled parking spaces. Above all you'll be able to get back home again at a reasonable time, and not have to struggle with the New Year revellers on the all night buses from Trafalgar Square.
