The Twentieth Spanish and Latin American Film Festival brings the cream of the crop to Cornerhouse.
Viva! is a fiesta of new filmmaking, including comedies, horror, B-movies, documentaries, and women's cinema. There will also be Q&As with the directors, post show discussions, lectures, film introductions, and walking tours of Manchester.
The festival will begin on the 7th March with an
Opening Gala. Tickets are £11 or £9 concessions, and shows the UK premiere of
Días de vinilo (Days of Vinyl), followed by drinks. This buddy comedy will be shown on numerous
other dates at the standard ticket price of £6 or £4.50 concession. On the 9th March, this will include a post-show Q&A with the director,
Gabriel Nesci.
If you're studying film, there will be special
A-Level and
GCSE sessions, covering topics such as race, identity, immigration, family, and relationships.
Discover the connection between Manchester and Spain in a walking tour of the city, where you will visit the Town Hall's tribute to the Civil War's International Brigade, the curvy bridge designed by Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava Valls, and find out about Manchester's love of Spanish food and fashion.
