Arts & Crafts from Local Traders
Popping out to Marks & Spencer's one Wednesday lunchtime to grab a sandwich, I exited through the back into Uxbridge's Pavilion centre. I was pleasantly surprised to find a bustling craft market.
The Uxbridge Craft Market runs every Wednesday with a lovely variety of stalls to browse around. There are a range of different arts, crafts, gifts and raw materials if you fancy getting crafty yourself. The stalls are run by local artists and traders so it's a good way to support local talent.
Why not find a unique piece of art to brighten up a room at home? I always think it's lovely to have a little background behind what you have purchased rather than buying a print from a large department store.
I really liked Alison May's stall with it's vintage charm. She offers lots of colourful bunting, fabric covered lampshades and a variety of cushions.
These owl cushions really caught my eye and would make a lovely addition to a kid's bedroom.
If you're looking for a unique greeting card then there is usually cards available. This Wednesday, Cariad's Cards had a large array on offer.
If you have a look around and it inspires you to make some of your own creations, you could pick up some material from M.S. Fabrics. They have lots of rolls available as well as pre cut bundles from £2.
As well as the the goods to purchase the Uxbridge Craft Market runs craft workshops for all ages and their artists in residence also provide demonstrations and tuition.
If you're looking for something a little different to the usual available in Uxbridge then I'd recommend a visit one Wednesday to the Uxbridge Craft Market.
