UPDATE: All performances part of the Utilita Live From The Drive-In concert series have been cancelled. Promoters LiveNation have stated that this is due to issues relating to Covid-19. More acts have been added to the Utilita Live From The Drive-In series, which hits Birmingham this summer.
Among them are a former member of local 80s heroes Duran Duran!
As reported in WeekendNotes, the previously announced line-up already includes The Streets (now sold out), Sigala, Dizzee Rascal, Beverley Knight, and others.
All the shows are 'drive-in' format, with gig-goers able to watch the acts from socially distanced car-parking spaces, either from within their vehicle or within their designated space.
It's a great way to enjoy live entertainment while big theatres and music venues are closed, due to Covid-19 related restrictions.
What's Love Got To Do With It? (9 Aug 2020) is a tribute to the now sadly no longer touring Tina Turner, and featuring some of her biggest hits, including Proud Mary, River Deep, Nutbush City Limits, and Simply The Best - all performed with the aid of a 10-piece live band.
An early show with Boyzone and Westlife mash-up Boyzlife, followed by masked London rapper M Huncho, feature on 11 August 2020.
Brit rock band Reef head to the outdoor/ car park venue on 20 August 2020, when they'll be joined by former Duran Duran lead guitarist Andy Taylor.
Alongside Duran Duran, Andy has also worked with Power Station, Robert Palmer, Rod Stewart, The Almighty and Thunder.
21 August 2020 sees appearances from Whitey Houston tribute show Queen Of The Night and soulful songwriter Tom Grennan.
The final new show to be added is Brit and Ivor Novello award winner KT Tunstall, on 10 September 2020.
KT's most recent track, Wash Ya Hands, is a 'kollaboration' with Grace Savage and The Freelance Hellraiser for War Child UK and WaterAid, and produced during the Covid-19 lockdown.
