If you're heading along to , clear your ears for something a bit different. An ensemble led by Hibiki Ichikawa will be showcasing the shamisen, that rather cool, three stringed Japanese instrument that's a bit like a banjo, if banjos were from feudal Japan and had a good deal more swagger. Apparently, Hibiki is the only chap doing this professionally across Europe, so you're in for a truly unique treat of traditional and original pieces.

Joining this shamisen wizardry will be Akari Mochizuki, who'll be lending her voice to a collection of Enka, which are essentially traditional Japanese ballads. So, if you fancy some genuinely authentic sounds that might just transport you across the globe for a bit, this performance promises to be quite a spectacle. It's not every day you get to hear Europe's top shamisen player and a brilliant Enka singer all in one go.
