The small store sells everything you could possibly need to get you up and running including footwear, clothing and accessories.
Me and my husband have recently taken up running in an attempt to get fitter and so we popped in store with our two young children to get properly kitted out.
The two staff members were so welcoming and helpful in finding us the perfect pair of trainers to fit our individual foot shapes and running style. In the shop there is a treadmill which me and my husband both ran on seperately for a few seconds while the staff monitored our gait on a video screen. This enabled them to ascertain whether we needed a neutral shoe or one with mild support. We were then brought out a selection of trainers to try on - their huge stock selection ranges from about £60 to £140. We were even able to run up and down the road to see which ones felt the most comfortable. All the while, the other shop assistant was keeping our little-ones amused and entertained. It really was fantastic service.
Up & Running stock many popular running brands including Saucony and Mizuno which are the two brands me and my husband came away with (as well as a running top for me, and running socks and a water bottle for Tom). We can now go for a run, safe in the knowledge that we have the best possible support for our feet.
I feel so much happier being able to visit a local store and get professional help and advice about what to choose, rather than just ordering randomly from a huge retailer on line (even if it does mean paying slightly more). But, if you aren't near any of the stores, Up & Running do have an online shop offering free UK delivery on orders over £100. There's also lots of advice on their website about subjects ranging from injuries to training.
Up & Running in East Sheen also run a local running club, so if you fancing going for a run around Richmond Park with like-minded people then you can do so. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
