The (UK AMAs) will be taking place on the 11th March 2010 at London's Royal Festival Hall and will be hosted by BBC Asian Network's Bobby Friction and singer Sophie Choudry.

In its third year running, the continues to grow; gathering media recognition and status as an independent awards show which celebrates Asian culture.

The night will play host to the best in South Asian entertainment and guests can expect a musical repertoire of Bhangra, Bollywood and Asian-fusion. A selection of artists will be performing live on the night, including the Sugababes, Imran Khan and Jaya, with more acts to be confirmed. Viewers can expect lively and colourful shows,and you will be guaranteed to see a dance or two on stage, as traditional meets contemporary in an all out Asian entertainment extravaganza.

The awards cover the usual nominations for Best Album, Best Newcomer and Best International Act, as well as some lesser known awards for Best Desi Act and Best Alternative Act. Some of the nominated acts are Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes), Jay Sean, Panjabi MC and Sukshinder Shinda, and they will be among their fellow nominees, waiting to find out who will win a coveted UK AMA in their respective categories.
