The Ultimate Fighting Championship is the largest mixed martial arts promotion company in the world. Based in Nevada, their first event was held in 1993, and pitted competitors of different disciplines together to see which was the most effect form of martial arts. These included Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Sambo, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Karate, and Judo.
UFC hold more traditional matches too and this year they are putting on a UFC Fight Night. Six boxing tournaments are to be held in major cities around the world, and London has the privilege of hosting the first one on the 8th March at the O2 Arena.
Tickets to the event cost between £45.75 - £166.75, and the doors open at 4.30pm.
There will be ten matches, but the headline fight is going to be Alexander Gustafasson against Jimi Manuwa - or in boxer talk, The Mauler vs Poster Boy.
From Sweden, Gustafasson is 27 years old, 6" 5", and 205 lb. He is currently number one. His opponent, Manuwa is from Sacramento, and eleventh in the ranking. He stands a 6" 2" and equals in weight.
Other appearances include Brad 'One Punch' Pickett vs 'Uncle Creepy' McCall, Ilir 'The Sledgehammer' Latifi vs Cyrille 'Snake' Diabate, and Danny 'The Cheesecake Assassin' Mitchell Igor Araujo.
