Bringing a more fulfilling sense of orgasm to the world
"How do I have a better sex life?" It might seem a brazen question, but one that author, entrepreneur and expert Nicole Daedone is not afraid to ask. In fact, it is a question that Nicole has been exploring since 2001, when she founded One Taste in San Francisco. One Taste is an organisation that provides coaching, lectures, workshops and personal development. It's mission statement is "to create a clean, well-lit place where sexuality, relationship, and intimacy can be discussed openly and honestly." This week, Nicole will be visiting London from the USA to deliver a free talk, introduce herself and the 15 minute orgasm method that she invented, known as OM 'Orgasmic Mediation', a practice expounded and taught by One Taste.
OM ('Orgasmic Mediation') is a method of genital stroking that focuses on the female orgasm as a "mindful practice" that brings women into a state of expanded orgasm and heightened consciousness. The practice involves a woman removing her clothes from the waist down whilst her partner strokes her clitoris and genitals for 15 minutes, usually whilst wearing gloves. The stroker and the strokee do not necessarily have to be in a relationship and the act usually takes place away from the bedroom, this is to remove it from foreplay and contextualise it, instead, into a meditative practice. Women are encouraged not to try to control the orgasm, but instead allow their body to take them on a journey as they surrender into orgasm.
Although there is already a burgeoning One Taste scene in London, with community members who regularly practice stroking, as well as participate in workshops and events, Nicole herself is visiting London to give a lecture to those interested in the practice and also to give an insight into some of the topics covered in her new book "Unconditional Sex".
These include the exploration of the sexual potential of the human body and the amazing effects that sexual fulfilment can bring, not just for individuals and couples, but for communities and societies as a whole.
Voted one of Vanity Fair's Twelve Women Who Changed the Way We Look at Sex, Nicole promises to be, at the very least, a radical, thought-provoking and - er - stimulating speaker. We're in.
