Tropical World, Roundhay Park

If you are tired of the West Yorkshire fog and cold weather , and you are in a search for something more exotic, the good news is that you don't have to book flights and hotels. Tropical World at Roundhay Park could offer you a few hours of exotic escape only for £3,30.
Tropical world is a garden - in fact, one of the largest tropical gardens in England. It is packed with a rich collection of creatures, such as chameleons, iguanas, lemurs, owl monkeys, meerkats, loads of nearly alien-looking birds, and a colorful variety of butterflies, which are flitting freely around the visitors. My personal favorites are the chameleon, whose movements are so slow and robot-like that you can sit and watch it for hours without being bored, and the funny meerkats, which follow your every move.
The venue is divided into different corners which offer quite a natural experience and views of the tropical flora and fauna, embellished with waterfalls, swamps and pools. The Australasia House, the Amazon/South American House, the Butterfly House, and the Amazon Tank are only some of them. They are well organized so that you definitely will not miss any tropical curiosity, nor creature. There are also notes and tables everywhere with the most important information about the exhibited species, so your improvised tropical journey could be an educating one, as well.
Tropical World's working time is also very convenient - it is open every day of the year except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. So basically whenever you feel like visiting the Tropics you can simply catch the bus and you will be in a "Tropical World" in less than 30 minutes.
