Translunar Paradise is back touring the UK, 7 years after the show first premiered. This endearing and emotive performance expresses an entire lifetime of love without anyone on stage uttering a word. Translunar Paradise will be at
The Point Eastleigh on
Thursday 22nd February 2018 for a single
7:30pm show.
This is the story of William, a widower who is not ready to deal with the grief of losing his wife and true love. Instead, he retreats into his memories, entering a fantasy world that allows him to relive every moment they spent together throughout their lifetimes. In these fantasies he is joined by his wife, Rose, who helps him to let go and move forward out of his pain.
George Mann and
Deborah Pugh play the roles of William and Rose. Armed with handheld face masks (created by
Victoria Beaton, a sculptor at Madame Tussaud's), the pair are able to move seamlessly from present day through their early memories; they switch between the elderly couple and the youthful lovers and back and forth between fantasy and reality. They revisit William and Rose's entire relationship, every moment acted wordlessly using expressive movements and interactions.
Translunar Paradise is presented by
Theatre Ad Infinitum , an ensemble theatre company based in Bristol. Their productions have a large focus on the body and movement, using these both as integral storytelling tools.
