These days toys and games are mainly technology based. We have video consoles, and lots of electronic gadgets to keep us amused. But if you are looking for something that harkens back to older times, where boardgames and imagination were the tools for a fun time, then
Toys on Parade will not only bring back memories, but have something you'll want to take home with you.
The shop sells vintage toys and games, as well as collectibles, and just plain old fashioned dolls and teddy bears. You will find classics like Monopoly and chess, models cars, Beanie Babies, and Barbies.
They also sell contemporary action figures like
Harry Potter, and the New style
Star Trek. The shop is open 10am-4pm, and at the moment their toys & games are half price.
Toys on Parade is not exactly easy to find; it's not down the high street or in a location where other shops are around. It is not exactly hiding, but if you were looking for a toy shop, you would never find this place unless you were already aware of it. I myself only found it by chance when walking down the street.
The shop is in Mitcham down Bramcote Parade, almost opposite the Mitcham cricket green. It's well worth a visit.
