The raising of Tower Bridge is one of those picture postcard moments that make living in London so special and following the Jubilee Pageant, there will be plenty of opportunities to see this during the Olympics.

Twenty four hours notice is required for shipping vessels over 30ft (9m) including the mast to pass under the bridge and bridge lift times are listed on the Tower Bridge website athttp://www.towerbridge.org.uk.

From the 25th July -12th August 2012, there will be plenty of opportunities to see the bridge in action as Sail Royal Greenwich are bringing some beautiful tall ships back to the Thames for the Olympics and offering cruises. Full details are available on their website athttp://www.sailroyalgreenwich.co.uk

This picture was taken on the 4th June 2012, the day after the Jubilee Pageant when the tall ships moored along the Thames started their voyages home.
