As a Brazilian I've learnt to make the most of a good weather and I know the value of "beer garden drinking" in my nearly 2 years living in UK. Luckily, we're spoilt for choice here if you're after beer garden. Here are 5 great choices.
5- The Old Joint Stock- Tucked away on The Temple Row in the middle of the busy city centre, this pub is a choice for lots of office people in the area. Famous for its variety of ales and stunning Victorian construction, it also has a gorgeous theatre and a tiny and comfy beer garden. A pleasant space for a break of daily routines.
4- The Shakespeare – This is a favourite pub, whether if you want to drink inside or outside. Located next to the Snow Hill Station, on the Summer Road, it's a very busy pub on the weekends, so it's better to find a seat outside to enjoy this really gorgeous and spacious beer garden with the atmosphere of a traditional English pub.
3- Prince of Wales- When you visit Prince of Wales for the first time it seems more like just a tiny and cosy pub. But after having some drinks in its huge and inviting beer garden you probably will change your thoughts about this one. This is one of the finest places to be if it's sunny in Moseley. Don't forget to ask about Bruno.
2- The Spotted Dog- If Digbeth is known for its traditional Irish pubs, Spotted Dog is the one with the most famous beer garden in the area. The Jazz venue is great for a get together with friends. This covered space holds all kind of events and it's a good option for a drink or two, if the weather is good or not. The deco includes a piano, a gnome and some other unusual things, it all makes this pub worth visiting.
1-The Lord Clifden- Best known as an Urban Arts Pub, The Lord Clifden is definitely not your average one. Far from the city centre buzz and trendy bars, Lorden Clifden attracts a really fine clientele, from Medicine students to people interested in street art. Its beer garden speaks for itself: graffiti, a table tennis table, and a lovely BBQ area make this pub very popular every single day of the week. Best outdoor drinking experience in Brum.
