St. Patrick was actually born in England, but at sixteen, he was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave. A message sent to him from God helped him escape back home, where he studied as a priest. He eventually returned to Ireland to teach the Christian doctrine, and became their Patron Saint.
St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on the 17th March, and this year you can celebrate it with TNT. Their St Paddy's Day Party is being held at the
Elk Bar in Fulham from 12pm till late, where you will be able to dance to DJs, watch live band performances, and see big sporting events & replays on one of their big screens - pick from their HD Projector, 3D plasma screen at the bar, or their plasma television in the beer garden.
Try one of their St Patrick's Irish burgers: a traditional beef patty with cabbage, bacon, brown sugar, and an ironic helping of Russian dressing. There will be plenty of Irish booze to wash your meal down, with a pint of Guinness at £3.50, Irish Cocktails at £4.95, and a free Elk Irish Punch before 2pm if you
pre-register.
With special giveaways throughout the day, and an Irish costume competition (I'm expecting to see a lot of leprechauns exiting Fulham Broadway station), there are lots of prizes to be won, including day trips to Ireland.
