Now I'm no vegetarian, I have never claimed to be - but I know a good place when I see one, and Tibits restaurant is definitely good.
Hidden away from the very busy Regent's Street in the foodie enclave that is Heddon Street, Tibits offers a plethora of tasty delights for those who refuse the flesh. The way you eat is quite original too, being like a buffet in style. You move around the ovel-shaped food boat, choosing your food, then take it to the counter to be weighed - yes, weighed. Here they do things a little differently, as you pay for your meal by weight, rather than by plate - so the freedom of choice is definitely on your side (especially if you are the type of person and often wishes - I wish I could have a bit of that, and a bit of that too - when you look at a menu.
There are over 40 types of food to choose from on the food boat at any one time, so peruse the menu, then the boat, and mix and match to your hearts content.
Still in need of another reason? Simple - take a look at the list of celebrities who casually stroll through the doors, you may b e surprised who you end up sitting next to. A popular page on their website 'Spotted at Tibits' reads like a who's who of the great and famous of British and International celebrity. If you're not ready to check it out just yet - here's a couple to start you off. Gordon Ramsay, Neve Campbell and Bianca Jagger have all been seen here over the last few years, who knows who will be there when you arrive?
Should you not have enough time to sit and enjoy the surroundings, there is atake-away service available too, though what could be nicer than sitting inside, eating food that's invariably good for you, and celebrity spotting too?
