The man who in his own right has won adoring fans through his clever lyrics, insatiable melodies, and oh-so-smooth sound, The Weeknd, is coming the NIA. The R'n'B star (Abel Tesfaye), will be performing an intimate concert, on his second visit to Birmingham.
I started listening to The Weeknd in early 2011, and after listening to his song, Thursday, like many, I was hooked. Thursday is on the album House of Balloons, the first of his three mixtapes, the last,The Trilogy, which has been released, and of which he will be serenading the crowd with at the concert.
The Weeknd has an ability to sing with a cool Toronto-born drawl. He's slick, sexy, and his sounds make me weak at the knees.
Unless you've been living under a rock you'll have heard at least one of his songs. He's collaborated with some of the best artists of our time, including Drake, and numerous fellow singer songwriters have covered his songs, like Ellie Goulding's version of High For This.
He's been performing at some of the most prolific music festivals including Coachella.
You can always listen to his music via his ever current YouTube channel, but of course, catch him at the NIA, and it will be a performance you'll never forget.
Two standing concert tickets cost £29.00 and can be bought via the Skiddle website.
