London pub theatre at its best
Pub theatre is a wonderful tradition that is somewhat unique to London, but the idea of it is nothing short of brilliant: full-service bar and restaurant downstairs, quality theatre upstairs. With the daring and innovative Theatre 503 occupying an intimate upstairs venue and a fun and comfortable pub downstairs, the Latchmere Pub in the Battersea Park area exemplifies pub theatre at its best.

The Latchmere Pub is a spacious pub with plenty of character and a lot to offer. It's dimly lit and old-fashioned, proudly reminiscent of the Victoria era in which it first opened its doors. It's Victorian interior also comes with a fireplace that warms customers during the winter months and comfortable couches that allow visitors to feel cosy and welcomed. There is an outdoor beer garden with a barbecue area that is ideal for warmer weather, and plenty of televisions throughout the pub to ensure that customers don't miss out on any football excitement.

The Latchmere Pub is an excellent pub whether or not you are making a visit to Theatre 503 upstairs. But a visit to Theatre 503 is a perfect break from the pub scene to take in some high-quality theatre.

After climbing the stairs to the Theatre 503 box office, patrons quickly forget they were just in a pub. The theatre lobby has a comfortable lounge area separate from the bar and restaurant, and the quiet and intimate space for productions allows each theatergoer to feel transported to totally different places and time periods while getting an up-close view of the terrific acting and set designs. Full price adult tickets are only 15, and only 10 for students, senior citizens, and other concessions.

Experiencing pub theatre is a must for any London local or tourist. Whether you're a regular pub theatre enthusiast or someone interested in trying it as something new, Theatre 503 and The Latchmere Pub should be high on your list of places to go for a full night of food, drinks, and top-notch entertainment.
