Ok, so it's not actually in Macclesfield. The Yard is tucked away into the schmancy country streets of Alderley Edge, a restaurant and grocery store - ooh la la!




With fresh food, a deli counter, an excellent menu and a cake table to die for, The Yard is an excellent place for breakfast or lunch (probably dinner too, but I haven't tried that yet so I can't recommend it).




I personally think this is an excellent pre or post light hike venue. The vibe and decor is too nice for the full on hiking look, unless you want to look sweaty, red faced and like a fleece mobile next to some French looking blow dries and glowing skin. I don't. So I'll stick to the light hike that 'allows' me to devour at least two sweet treats from that cake table. Mmm... cake table of doom.

Now that the great British weather has taken a temporary turn for the better, some of us will find ourselves in mass exodus from the cities looking for vast swathes of green. If this hunt for the country takes you up north, definitely stop in at The Yard.
