The Wolseley, Piccadilly

If you're looking for afternoon tea in London but, like me, can't quite afford The Ritz then why not visit its neighbour and treat yourself to a typically English, tasty afternoon tea for half the price?
The Wolseley offers assorted fingers sandwiches, fruit scones, pastries and a choice of teas for £22.50, which is almost £20 cheaper than the traditional afternoon tea at The Ritz, (and over £40 cheaper than the Ritz's celebration tea) pretty good if you ask me. The room may not be as big, or as...gold, but it is still an extremely classy and beautiful building and, more importantly, the food is to die for and most definitely worth the money.
If I haven't persuaded you to visit the Wolseley already, then how about this...
The Wolseley also serves breakfast until 11.30am, including a delicious Full English Breakfast, plus lunch and dinner. Now this menu might set you back a little bit more, but if you can manage to splash out, you won't be disappointed. With fear of sounding a little bit over the top, the Griddled Tiger Prawns followed by the Fillet Steak is quite possibly the best meal I've ever had.
You know you're in a pretty special restaurant when Lobster cocktail is served, because prawn cocktail simply won't do. But if you need another excuse to go, how about the fact that it's open during the Olympics until 1am Monday-Friday, and Midnight on Sundays?
Situated very near Green Park underground station, and only a short walk away from Piccadilly Circus and Hyde Park Corner tube stations, it is easily accessible.
