What makes it so special for me is the style of it. It's not just a mixture of loads of things, it's a perfect combination of design. The furniture is very comfortable and the sofas are my favourite. The amazing illustrations fill in with the old style of the bar. Oh, there's a little garden at the back for the smokers, which is lovely, especially in summer. In winter it has heaters stuck to the lamps so you don't get cold while you smoke. As well, inside the pub there is a small boutique with vintage clothing.
The entertainment is great. They have a small library where you can choose a book to read during lunch or whenever you want. As well there are games for the kids and the families. Usually you would see me playing scrabble on a Sunday there. If you like arcade games, then there's an arcade machine for you. "Nevermind the Buzzcocks" game tends to be the chef's favourite as you can see him playing it quite often. Besides that they have Quiz Nights every Monday, wine deals for cheaper dates on wednesdays, Open Mic nights, Stitch and & Bitch - especially for the ladies, knitting club and live music on Sunday nights.
Regarding the food, it's great. The menu is different during the week and they have different offers. Maybe some might find it a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it.
May take a bit for you to wait before you get it, especially in the evenings as the pub is quite packed and the kitchen is very small. My favourite dish is the Breaded Chicken breast topped with ham, barbeque sauce and cheddar, served with chips. Uh, potato wedges are delicious as well. Ah I don't have enough space to write about every single dish.
The desserts are tasty as well, especially the Plum, raspberry and frangipane tart with custard. I recommend that one if you have a sweet tooth.
The drinks are good and aren't expensive at all. They have a wide range of alcohol, from cider to russian vodka. If you are a softie, you could enjoy their lemonade or even the hot chocolate with marshmallows which makes you feel loved.
The service is great. They are always friendly and nice, welcoming and polite. If you have a problem, they will resolve it quickly. You will be served by the manager and even meet the chef in the garden out for a smoke. At busy nights you'll see them working like the bee's.
If you like nice pubs with style in them, places where you can bump into artists or meet amazing new people, then The White Hart is for you.
