Hey readers, I haven't wrote a review in a while since I have been busy. On a weekend I like to relax after work with friends and maybe a beer or two. The Watering Trough is a great place to do this, on Saturdays around 9:30pm I head straight from work to the pub. My girlfriend and friends normally head down earlier and meet me after.
Since I am into my rock music, this is a great place to go and relax, enjoy a drink, catch up with friends and even meet new people. All genres of rock music are played, from classic to metal. Sometimes they have their good days and bad days but either way you can still head to the DJ and request a song. There's also a dance floor where people head bang and play air guitars, no one gets hurt though except in the morning when they wake up with neck ache.
The bar staff are really friendly here, they will have a chat with you every now and again whilst at the bar. Every time I have been there, the staff are always cheerful and have never seen one of them in a mood. They are polite and respectful as long as you return it. They sing along with songs and even dance behind the bar.
It's not only the staff that are friendly either, even the people who go to the Watering Trough are friendly. You can easily make new friends since everybody is sociable. Of course there's always one person that gets a little bit drunk or a creepy person who tries to get a little too friendly. Never any violence though from what I've seen, which makes it a great place to go.
There's a great place out back for smokers, too. There are three levels out back and you can smoke on any of the levels. It's not only smokers that go out, I'm not a smoker myself but it can get pretty hot inside so to cool off just sit outside with a beer and have a laugh. No one comes up to you and blows smoke in your face so it's never too full of smoke.
A great socializing place with a wide variety of music and drinks. It's a great place to be on a weekend. Located in Walsall town center. Abelwell Street, WS1 2EU. Get down there and meet great people.
On some nights they also have live bands playing on stage, so if you are in a rock band and want to start out somewhere ask the staff and you should be able to get a slot to play. I'm sorry that I couldn't get any pictures of the inside, it was hard to get since they are copyrighted.
