A play set in a fictional London polling station, that will dramatise the final ninety minutes before the polls close on election day. From the perspective of the people present at one of many temporary places to vote.
The last day of the play's run will be broadcast live on More4, May 7th, which is the actual day of this year's general elections at precisely an hour and a half before it closes (8.30 - 10pm).
All tickets will be made available ironically through a ballot, which opens on Monday 30th March at 10am and runs until midnight on Tuesday 7th April. Expect some big names from the television and theatre world, with the likes of Nina Sosanya, Mark Gatiss and Catherine Tate taking the stage.
Live theatre screenings started out here in the UK back in June 2009 with the broadcast of Phèdre with Helen Mirren at the National Theatre, which was shown in over 200 cinemas around the world and seen by a worldwide audience of more than 50,000 people.
The Vote will be the first of its kind, with theatre and television joining forces in this national event.
