Birmingham band The Twang have a very special seasonal gift lined up for their fans – two festive shows at the O2 Academy in Brum city centre on December 17 and 18, 2022.

The group are resurrecting their legendary Twangmas event for the holiday season, with a stellar line-up of special guests, including Jaws , Overpass and The Effenaar on Saturday the 17th and Lottery Winners , Corella and The Effenaar on Sunday the 18th. On Saturday there will also be an after party DJ set by Thomas Turgoose and Andy Ellis (This Is England), while on Sunday a DJ set will be provided by Ocean Colour Scene's Steve Cradock .

Formed in 2004, The Twang have released five studio albums – Love It When I Feel Like This (2007), Jewellery Quarter (2009), 10:20 (2012), Neon Twang (2014) and If Confronted Just Go Mad (2019). A B-sides compilation, Subscription, was released in 2017, shortly after a 'Best Of' collection. Their debut single, Wide Awake, was released in March, 2007.

Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Phil Etheridge, who founded the band with bassist Jon Watkin, The Twang's most recent album, If Confronted Just Go Mad, was made available in November, 2019, a few months before the COVID pandemic curtailed live performances. The album introduced new backing singer Cat Mctigue whose vocals are prominent on first single, Everytime.

A limited number of Twangmas tickets for each night are priced at £15 each, plus booking fee. There is also a limited number of passes for both shows priced at £30 plus booking fees. When these have sold, tickets will be priced from £25 plus booking fees.
