Art is considered not only as a creative outlet, but also something of an emotional release as well; it enables us to look within ourselves and ask questions about who we are and why we do what we do.
The Strength and Vulnerability Bunker is an exhibition featuring the work of people who probably need this kind of outlet most of all.
Curated by Speech Debelle, the award winning rapper has brought together a collection of art at the Southbank Centre, made by offenders, mental patients, and detainees. The space has been converted into an atmospheric bunker with pictures, objects, sounds, and films, which reflect the artists's hopes and regrets.
The exhibition is free to attend up until the 1st December, and there are daily tours, which are to be led by ex-offenders.
