is the king of all alfresco venues. It is an outdoor sunken amphitheatre with seating for nearly 1000 which offers open-air musical performances, theatre productions, community events and movie screenings.



The grey steps of the amphitheatre come to life during the summer months when a variety of free events are held. Considering the programme is entirely free, the quality of entertainment provided here is pretty amazing. As of 2011 it has been used as a performance venue for nine years and over the years there have been a sensational mix of events that would suit just about anyone. Films range from romantic classic to action-packed blockbusters and an incredible number of theatre groups have held the stage at some point. The Scoop is also available for hire for many kinds of events.

More London is a business estate located on the south bank of the Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, and the Scoop is situated right in the middle of the district underneath London's City Hall.



A perfect place for a laze in the sun or an evening picnic, don't forget the cheese, dip and chilled wine and perhaps also take along a cushion or a blanket for protection against the chilly concrete. The fact that the Scoop is free makes the venue a particularly popular destination, especially when the weather is good so make sure you arrive early enough to guarantee a half-decent spot.
