See The Touching Tale Of A Dragon Who Won't Fight
A funny and enchanting story about a dragon is set to delight audiences in the Staffordshire town of Tamworth when outdoor theatre makes a welcome return later this year. Popular touring theatre group, Quantum Theatre, will be performing a classic retelling of 'St George and the Dragon' from the author of The Wind in the Willows, Kenneth Grahame. Entitled The Reluctant Dragon, it is a touching and magical story of bravery and friendship which will be performed live in Dosthill Park, Tamworth, on Saturday 23rd June.

The Reluctant Dragon describes a young boy who befriends a poetry-loving dragon living in the Downs above his home. When the townsfolk send for St.George to slay the dragon, the boy needs to come up with a clever plan to save his friend and convince the townsfolk to accept him. St George has to do battle with the dragon, but what happens when the dragon simply won't fight St George? Councillor Robert Pritchard, Deputy Leader of Tamworth Borough Council, said: "This lovely family production is based on a favourite children's world book classic about St George and the dragon. Dosthill Park has become a popular venue for annual outdoor theatre performances and I'm delighted that this story will be showcased live for families to enjoy, perfect for a summer's afternoon."
