The City of Bath is a popular tourist destination, thanks to its world famous Roman Baths and its vast array of museums and galleries. With so much to see and do it is important to find a good watering hole where you rest up your feet and indulge in some tasty snacks.

If you are visiting Bath in order to explore the stunning Roman Baths then Restaurant is the place to go. It is the perfect place to indulge in the English Afternoon Tea experience. The setting here is stunning and has a very elegant feel to it.

The menu for afternoon tea is vast, but you can simply opt for a Traditional Pump Room Tea. This includes a range of tea sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream, Cherry Tree preserve, pastries and of course a pot of tea or coffee.

You can choose to create your own tea selection. Tea sandwiches, cheddar crumpets, warm cheddar and chive scones and hot Somerset cheese rarebits make up some of the items on the savoury menu. For the sweeter treats there are homemade scones, cakes, caramel shortbread and hot buttered crumpets to tempt you. A glass of bubbly can be added to any order and there is an extensive range to choose from.

If you are travelling with a party of at least 8 people, you can opt to have the Pump Room Celebration Champagne Tea. This option has to be booked 7 days in advance and has two time slots of either 12:15pm or 3:00pm. The menu for this extravagant afternoon tea includes the Pommery Tasting Tray which has 4 taster sized glass of seasonal champagnes to try. The food included in this tea is smoked salmon buck wheat blini with sorrel and shallot crème fraiche, homemade scones with clotted cream and fruit preserves as well as pastries and a pit of tea or coffee.

As you can probably imagine form the description you won't be able to pop in and grab a quick sandwich and leave with change from £10. However you will leave with an extraordinary memory and a very satisfied pallet. Any meal here is an experience in itself, the food is just as impressive as the building itself. If you have never indulged in a traditional English afternoon tea then there is no better place to do so.

Once you have had your fill you can walk a little of it off by strolling around the Roman Baths. To finish off why not pop into the Roman Baths shop and pick up some unique treats.
