We all have our preferences, but this one is worth putting your watch on.
Located right in the heart of Shepherds Bush, away from the hustle and bustle of the tube station, and the colossus that is Westfield shopping centre, you can find a lovely pub that serves great ale, and an interesting selection of bar snacks. The name?
The Pocket Watch
This isn't a place to just come and quench your thirst - no siree. The kitchen here is well worth a look into, as they serve everything from
little bites to
big meals.
The two menus together lead to a quite expansive range of food, which means that you won't really struggle to find something worthy of your stomach's attention - some recommendations if you're struggling - try the French dip sandwich with slow roast beef and emmental, or the fried pickles and blue cheese. Save room for dessert though, as though I haven't tried thus far, I'm sure I could easily be tempted by the Kitchen Sink sharing sundae (if someone will share it with me, of course).
The interior is warm and friendly, as are the bar staff, which makes for a nice convivial atmosphere throughout - inevitably you, like me, will stay longer than you planned thanks to it.
If a good pub couldn't get any better, it is also one of those places which are very generous with their sports showing - so you can get yourself along to the bar and still be able to eat your grub while watching your favourite team win (or lose depending on who you support). I think more than enough reasons to get yourself there now - so set your watch, it's opening time soon...
