My local pub less than half a mile away from my house in Wednesbury, is The Myvod. It's a very friendly atmosphere, the food is lovely and reasonably priced; it starts from about £2.59 for a filled jacket potato to fish and chips, or a curry or steak (and the desserts are delicious). I can recommend the 'smothered chicken' meal at the moment it is only £2.99, along with a few other meals like 'tipsy steak pie' (my Father-in-law says it is the best pub pie he has ever tasted).



Gammon and fish dishes are all only £2.99; I don't think you could find a better meal cheaper than that around the Midlands. My favourite dessert is the chocolate fudge cake: a huge slice is served with ice cream or cream. They also serve ice cream sundaes and fruit crumble all reasonably priced. During the post-Christmas period everyone can't afford to eat out very often, but at these prices you can have a weekly treat. I have never had a bad meal there in about five years.

They also have free wi-fi so you can bring your laptop, or tablet and work away, or do whatever. Now and then they have special evenings like curry night. Even if you don't want to eat at The Myvod, drinks are reasonable and Monday's are cheaper than usual. If you're ever in the area pop in and see us.
