Anywhere you go in London, you can find the usual offering of Christmas concerts, nativity plays, renditions of Dickens' A Christmas Carol and, of course, pantos. For an alternative to the traditional and typical, visit the acclaimed and award-winning improv group, Mischief Theatre, for their original Christmas comedy, The Murder Before Christmas: The Play That Goes Wrong. Well-known for their quirky and hilarious performances, this new festive play does not disappoint. In fact, critics across the board have given rave reviews in the form of such exclamatory reactions as 'breathtaking', 'side-splitting', and 'outstanding'.

The play is a murder mystery that revolves around the attempts of an amateur college drama society to perform a play for the first time. With a cast of improv artists, no two performances are the same, but you are guaranteed a fun and festive night out.

The play opens on 4th December at the Old Red Lion Theatre and runs until 31st December. Performances are at 9:30pm and matinees are offered on the 8th, 15th, 29th, and 31st December at 3pm. Performances between the 27th to the 30th December start at 7:30pm. Tickets are very reasonable at the following prices: £14.00 (£12.00 Concessions) for evening shows and £10 for matinees. The theatre also offers a Pay What You Can Thursdays option where the ticket price is up to you.



At only one hour long, the play is a fast-paced and dynamic experience that leaves you wanting more and will convert you into an improv fan, if you weren't already before entering the theatre.
