The movies are coming to a theatre near you! A fabulous lineup of cinema has been announced for the
Tamworth Assembly Rooms in the heart of Staffordshire. Instead of a normal multi-screen cinema complex, these movies will be shown in the delightful, renovated setting of the 19th-century theatre built in the town of Tamworth to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
Tamworth Borough Council has announced the cinema showings at the Assembly Rooms for the Easter holidays and the previous Monday afternoon silver screen shows which have proven very popular. The Easter holidays start on Good Friday, 29 March, and the theatre has come up with family-friendly holiday films to match, including the huge box office hits
Barbie and
Wonka, which audiences can see on the venue's full-size cinema screen. The line-up of 10 am Easter shows also includes
Paw Patrol The Mighty Movie and
Wish.
Cinema coming to town's theatre for Easter
At the same time, the Assembly Rooms has also announced its weekly Monday afternoon silver screen lineup, bringing box office hits such as
Oppenheimer and
One Life as well as other favourites including
Tar, The Old Oak, and
Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The silver screen showings are a great opportunity for film fans to socialise. Doors at the theatre will be open an hour before the screening starts where tea, coffee and biscuits are on offer for FREE to anyone attending. The film showings cost £5 a ticket. Visitors to the screenings are also invited to make any suggestions to the box office as to what films they would like to see in the future.
