Taking place at the
International Anthony Burgess Foundation is an evening of readings from the latest anthology of short stories.
Each year
The Mechanics' Institute Review is published, bringing the best collection of short stories from new and emerging talent. This event celebrates this year's published authors with a night of readings from the latest issue. This is the 14th year the anthology has been published and yet again, there will be a chance to witness new talent in the creative writing industry. The Mechanics' Institute champions short story writers and gives a voice to writers who may have struggled to get their work in the public domain.
The event is taking place on
Friday 12th January 2018 between
7pm and 9.30pm and includes readings from Leila Segal, Jenn Ashworth and Ellen Hardy. What's special about the anthology is it showcases work from professional and established writers as well as those new to the field. It allows readers to enjoy work from writers they know and discover new, authentic stories. Funded by the Arts Council England the Mechanics' Institute is able to promote and develop talent and help new writers start a career in this creative and competitive field.
Taking place at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation this is a great space which holds many educational and literary events in Manchester. The event is free but bookings are required via
Eventbrite .
Come and see the talent which has been uncovered by The Mechanics' Institute Review and enjoy a night to celebrate new work.
