Last April the Esplanade at Westquay was turned into a vintage funfair for the Festival of Colour , and for two years the area has been the home of the Festival of Light . Now Westquay are planning a new installation that will run from the end of March through April. A giant hedge maze will be taking over the space for just under four weeks for Westquay shoppers to explore and escape from. runs from March 27th till April 22nd, no doubt becoming a popular activity over the Easter school holidays.



The maze will be a genuine hedge maze, but instead of growing over time it will be installed bit by bit. It covers 9,000 square feet and the hedges are 2.4m tall. At the moment Westquay are staying tight-lipped about exactly what to expect, scattering advertisements throughout the shopping centre enticing shoppers with the phrase 'find yourself'.

It'll be a family affair, designed for both young and old. The maze will be open from 10am till 8pm daily, meaning families with young kids can explore during the day leaving nighttime wanderings to an older crowd. Entry is free.
