The splendour of The Vyne in Basingstoke is filled with history both inside its walls and on the grounds outside. The Tudor mansion has been an impressive building, housing lords and ladies for five centuries. If you're exploring the historic walls with your children, then the Vyne's family trails are a perfect opportunity to learn something about the old manor, while enjoying the stunning collections housed within its rooms.



From February 10th, there is a new family trail available at the Vyne - . Your map will lead you all over the Vyne's grounds to find and collect jigsaw pieces, which when put together reveal a tapestry currently housed within the Vyne undergoing conservation.

You can pick up your trail map from the reception. From there it's up to your keen-eyed explorers to keep their eyes peeled for the tiny treasures hidden all over the grounds. All the locations are located along the Vyne's gravel paths, so the family trail is wheelchair and pram accessible.

is free, but regular Vyne admission prices do apply. There is a recommended donation of £1 to complete the trail and all money raised goes towards the conservation of Vyne's collection of tapestries.

Entry is £11.75 for adults, £5.90 for children, £28.80 for families, and £10.80 per person for adult groups of more than 15 people. Admission is free for all National Trust members. To become a member, just visit the National Trust website , membership is £64.80 for individuals, £108 for joint membership and £114.60 a year for families. National Trust membership provides access to National Trust locations across England for the duration of the membership.

The Vyne is located on Vyne Rd in Sherborne St John, Basingstoke. The Vyne is approximately 35 miles from Southampton and a 45 minute drive along the M3. The Lost Tapestries Family trail will be on at the Vyne from February 10th until June 3rd. The Vyne is open from 10am till 5pm.
