Famed Balham hotel, The Bedford brings back their London FolkFest for a fourth year running. An acclaimed music venue, The Bedford Hotel has helped many music artists climb the ladder of success, including James Morrison, Paolo Nutini, and KT Tunstal. It plays host to secret acts and impromptu shows for nights week, and is particularly good at sourcing folk singers.
This is why, in 2011, The Bedford decided to create a festival especially for the genre. Their aim was to create a hub, where emerging artists could make themselves known, and they seemed to have pulled it off. From the 4th - 8th June, there will be four days dedicated to folk music, folk singers, and folksong writers. Tickets range from £5 - £29.75, and can be bought in advance or on the door.
As well as a line-up of great musicians, the London FolkFest include stalls, merchandise, food, and Daytime Panels designed for aspiring artists. There will be drop-in demos, where you can take a sample of your music to see what professionals in the business really think of your music, and listen in to talks with essential advice.
