The Little 3 is one of Thirsk's diamonds, serving a selection of prime European dishes along with a collection of hearty staples.
Located in the small town of Thirsk,
The Little 3, is known for being the oldest pub in Thirsk, dating back to the thirteenth century. In spring 2013 the venue was restored and re-opened, keeping intact some of the traditional, authentic features from its historic past.
After hearing great reviews from the locals, I thought I would take the only local I knew, my partner, to this talked about eatery and see if I too fell under the charm of the gourmet venue.
Scanning the menu we selected from the enticing starters of
deep fried Brie with fruit chutney and salad and the
duck egg to share, whilst I went for their signature
Little 3 Beef Burger, as a main. My partner has always been a fan of their pork so selected the
roast pork fillet.
We were lucky enough to have a very engaging waitress whose friendly personality alone could bring me back for a beverage or two in the downstairs pub.
Our food didn't take too long to appear and was quick to catch our hungry gaze on its arrival at the table.
The beef in my burger was succulent, juicy and encased in a perfect brioche bun and teamed with a side of crunchy chips.
The pork was the standout dish, I was told the meat was tender and the crackling right in cue.
The Little 3 is also home to a vintage pub that has been restored within the town of Thirsk. The venue is popular amongst locals and tourists alike.
If you next find yourself in Thirsk, or even York for that matter (York is only 20 minutes by car) then pop by
The Little 3. You won't be disappointed.
